As the risks to IT and OT converge, organizations must use "zero trust" to verify user identities and build effective monitoring capabilities to track the behavior of privileged users, say Kartik Shahani of Tenable and Rohan Vaidya of CyberArk.

Over 76% of the top Fortune 1000 companies use Active Directory as a basis for authenticating users to provide access to the senior management, says Shahani, who is country manager at Tenable India. The entire access management process needs to be reworked to reduce the trust component and only provide the amount of access required, he says.

Organizations can use threat analytics and start correlating SIEM logs, network logs, and Active Directory logs to discover the activities of attackers, says Vaidya, who is the regional director, India & SAARC, at CyberArk.

In this video interview, Shahani and Vaidya, as part of the virtual executive roundtable discussion, offer insights on:

  • Building cybersecurity resiliency across IT and OT environments to contain breaches;
  • Least privileged access using zero trust;
  • Building visibility across IT and OT in a single pane of glass.

Shahani, the managing director for India and SAARC at Tenable, has over 30 years of experience in the IT industry. Vaidya is responsible for managing the sales operations and profitability of CyberArk’s business in the subcontinent. He has over 22 years of experience in successfully building brands and companies in India and the wider Asian region.
