Daniel Clayton

VP of Global Support and Services, Bitdefender

Daniel Clayton has been responsible for building and delivering global operations for the National Security Agency (NSA), the Government Communications Headquarters (GCHQ), Rackspace and Bitdefender over a 30-year career.

As VP of Global Support and Services, he is responsible for Bitdefender’s global operations in support of customers, including the strategy, service delivery and oversight of Services and Support Operations, including the Security Operations Center, Customer Success Operations and associated engineering functions.

In his previous role as leader for all Information Security operations at Rackspace, he was a key member of the executive team that aligned strategy, technology and execution across the Rackspace global enterprise, which served 300,000+ customers in over 120 countries. He was responsible for service delivery of the Global enterprise-wide security operation, security operations strategy, and associated support services and oversaw the Rackspace Cross-Platform Operations organization, which encompassed Rackspace Managed Security Operations and Rackspace Application Services.

Prior to joining Rackspace, Daniel spent more than two decades with UK and US government intelligence and security services, where he developed and managed intelligence and security operations programs in multiple international locations, to include SOCs within the U.S. National Security Agency (NSA) and the U.K. Government Communications Headquarters (GCHQ).

As the Operations Center Intelligence Officer and Branch Chief with the U.K. Government, Daniel designed, implemented, coordinated and supervised the collection, analysis, and dissemination of nationally significant information across a network of three internationally deployed SOCs for a staff of 130 analysts and reporters.

Daniel is an experienced Operations leader, who has operated effectively in many roles on both sides of the Atlantic and having built and led 7 Operations Centers globally, including 2 commercial Security Operation Centers but has extensive Information Security and Cyber experience. Additionally, having built and launched two separate Managed Security Services organizations, he can also call upon significant Product and Marketing experience.

Daniel has a MS in Leadership and Management and BA in Intelligence Management from City and Guilds (Royal Charter) in London, as well as a BA in Russian from the University of Westminster.
